Although my retelling of the Orpheus myth was based on Ovid's Metamorphoses, Book X, I have taken liberties to turn its tragic ending into a happy one. The legend dates back to the 14th century. A time when the muses of the lyre flew about the shores of the Thracian sea. The Thracian's were known to be most gifted in musical talents, but Orpheus's talents excelled, except for the gods.
